Rescue our Schools has established this Privacy Policy to explain what information we collect through our website and how it is used, as well as protections for our supporters’ and donors’ personal information.
In this policy, “Rescue our Schools” refers to staff, Directors, cooperating lawyers, interns, and volunteers, all of whom are bound by law or contract to keep confidential information they receive as part of their assistance to us.
Rescue our Schools does not sell or rent supporter, donor or website visitor information under any circumstances, and we do not share your information without prior consent.
Information Gathered by this Site or through other means
Logging and Cookies: For visitors to our website, we do not log or make any use of visitor analytics or web tracking. However this wordpress site builds in trackers by default, and your own browser settings and cookies may track your site visit, beyond our control. The site is managed via wordpress.com and their privacy policy at Automattic.
Google Analytics
When someone visits rescueourschools.co.uk we collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour – such as which pages are visited, and how long is spent on each one. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site, and how people are using our site. These website statistics and data are collected by Google Analytics. This system also provides us with non-personally-identifiable ‘Interest’ and ‘Demographics’ data, which is collected using the widely-used Google Advertising Network DoubleClick cookie (see here for more information on this cookie, including how to opt-out).
Rescue Our Schools collects this data so that we can find out the kinds of people visiting our site, and we use this data to help us deliver our messages as effectively as possible. We do not display Google Adverts on our site.

Voluntarily Submitted Information: In addition, Rescue our Schools collects and retains information you voluntarily submit to us. It is up to you whether to submit information to us, and how much information to provide. If you choose to become a supporter, donate to Rescue our Schools or use our Contact Us or Newsletter forms, we may ask for identifying information such as your name and email address, and will retain that information.
If you donate to our work via PayPal you will be asked to provide personal information necessary to complete your transaction (and the payment processor will also receive your payment information, subject to their privacy policy.)
Rescue our Schools Mailing Lists: If you choose to subscribe to our free electronic newsletter or any of our other mailing lists, we collect your email address, and, other personal data such as IP address may be gathered by MailChimp and governed by their policy.
Other activities: Rescue our Schools may run surveys, or similar activities through this site or independent providers. Such information will be used for the purposes for which it was collected, and may also be subject to the provider third-party policies, such as Survey Monkey.
Our Use of your Information
In general, we will only use the information provided by you to further our aims, including standing up for an education system that is rooted in community, where teachers are trusted as professionals, and where every child can flourish. We work with other campaign groups and organisations to promote the changes we want to see, but we will not pass on your information to them without your knowledge.

Our site also provides links to, or interacts with, a wide variety of third-party websites, including interactive links to sites like social media, or video hosting websites. Rescue our Schools is not responsible for, and does not have any control over, the privacy practices or the content of third parties.
